A General Guide for Companies on Applications of Business Ethics

Abstract

The rapid growth in economy after the 1950′s in particular, has appreciated the importance of the enterprises both in the commercial and social aspects, and let these institutions be founding elements of the social life. The enterprises, which have deep relationships with all the sections of the society, have come to a point that they affect the social and economic life entirely with this feature of themselves. This status provided the need for business ethics, which have emerged in the developed countries, USA in chief, and big companies, and the need for acting with social responsibility to be formed, and these have spread to nearly all the countries in a short while. Today, the target of the enterprises is not merely making profit. Because of their social responsibility, it has become essential that they operate being beneficial to the public in common and carry out their commercial activities considering business ethics if they want to survive within this intensively competitive market.
