ABSTRACT
Customs carry out a wide range of vitally important fiscal, economic and social functions throughout the world. Corruption which is defined as the abuse of public power for private benefit is an important problem in customs. Corruption in customs seriously hinders the flow of international trade, undermines the legitimacy of the customs administration, creates an uncompetitive business climate, increases transaction costs for public and private sectors, reduces foreign investments, leads to serious revenue loss, ruins national security and community protection. The purpose of this study is to examine the external causes, consequences, and anti-corruption measures in customs. Keywords: Customs, corruption, international trade.
