The Rethinking of Child Labour Within the Ethics of Market Economy

ABSTRACT

“Child labor” or “working children” came up as a public policy with radical alternations in capitalist and social formations after the industry period. Nowadays, it is possible to see that in the socio- economic and cultural experiences of the countries, approaches aimed at child labor have different dimensions. In this research, child labor which is an important component of global economy and specifically of unrecorded sector is analyzed in the enterprising moral and public responsibility aspects. With this framework, moral and social dimensions of child labor as an increasing easy and cheap labor in basic inputs of global economy will be emphasized. The fact that children works in inadequate conditions crumple cognitive, physical, psychological, and moral development of these children cannot be tolerated. At the same time, this also complicates to create material and ethical conditions for children. In this research, some criminal neglects and exploitation of working children are concretized with some empiric research findings.
