ABSTRACT
This research was aimed to validate and calculate reliability of teachers’ ethical expectation related to principals and principal’s ethical leadership behavior that measure effectuation level of teachers’ ethical expectation scales according to teacher’s perception. Sample of the research consisted of 541 elementary, middle, and high schools’ teachers working in Sakarya province in 2018-2019 academic year. In this regard ‘ethical expectation’ and ‘ethical leadership behavior’ as Likert type scales were developed. KMO and Bartlett tests were used to examine suitability of data to manage exploratory factor analyses (EFA), then EFA and confirmatory factor analyses (CFA) were used along with calculation of Cronbach Alpha internal consistency coefficient. Results of validation and reliability of Ethical Expectation Scale (EES) and Ethical Leadership Behavior Scale (ELBS) were summarized as followed: Both scales included 5 dimensions along with EES consisted of 48, whereas ELBS consisted of 51 items. EES explained 69 % of total variance whereas ELBS explained 64 % of total variance along with, Cronbach Alpha internal consistency coefficient was calculated as .98 for both scales. CFA results related with fit indices for both scales could be interpret ed as followed: χ2 / df and RMSEA was in below level; CFI, NI and IFI were in great whereas SRMR was in acceptable level. Fit indices of both scales were greatly like each other, generally it possible to say that both scales were reliably and valid in decent level.
